Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan in Northern India and was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.

The Indian Prince brought economic prosperity to the region after incentivizing jewelers from all over India to move and establish artisanal gem-cutting shops in the new city.

The gem-cutting city has now become the jewelry capital of the world employing a vast amount of jewelry designers, skillful artisans and manufacturers. Large distribution centers were created to facilitate global trading and meet the ramping worldwide demand for gemstones, silver and gold.

The city has had to adapt to change, growth and modernization to continue competing on a global scale. India is a pioneer in the exploration of natural gemstones and in establishing commercial mining and trading, contributing to today's $15 Billion industry.

Jaipur imports gemstones of all types and colors from all over the world including but not limited to Brazilian Amethyst, Afghan Lapis Lazuli and South African Garnet. It is also known as the leading Emerald and Ruby cutting and trading center.

Aside from gemstones and precious materials, Jaipur is also known as the “Pink City” for its arresting pink architecture including the beautiful Hawa Mahal Wind Palace.

Today, the city thrives primarily on gem-cutting, gemstones and luxury textile manufacturing, tourism and information technology and it is the 10th largest city in India.
